Should Classification Get Undisciplined?

Books in libraries, catalogues and databases are often arranged by such bibliographic schemes as the
Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC), the Universal Decimal Classification (UDC) or the Library of
Congress Classification (LCC). These divide books into a set of different disciplines, such as philosophy,
history or literature. The names and coverage of disciplines are inherited from a long tradition coming
from at least the 16th century, but are not the only logical way to group topics.
