Dr. Clarence Maybee is the Associate Dean for Learning and the W. Wayne Booker Endowed Chair in Information Literacy at Purdue University Libraries and School of Information Studies. He is a leading information literacy educator and researcher whose work explores teaching and learning of information literacy in higher education. Dr. Maybee is the director of the Institute for Information Literacy at Purdue, which supports research that explores the role of information literacy in addressing information challenges. He co-leads Information Literacy is a Discipline (ILIAD), an international group of scholars advancing the recognition of information literacy as an emerging discipline. Dr. Maybee is co-editor of The Information Literacy Handbook: Charting the Discipline published in 2026 by Facet Publishing.
