Franziska Zimmer is a research associate and lecturer at the Information Science Dept. of Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf, Germany. Her current research projects include social media (especially live streaming services, with a focus on China), gamification and information behavior. Further topics of interest include investigations on HCI, media practices of asylum seekers (for which she published a monography together with Katrin Scheibe) and fake news.
