Zehra Taşkın is a faculty member at Hacettepe University, Department of Information Management (Turkey), and a researcher at Adam Mickiewicz University Scholarly Communication Research Group (Poland). Her primary research interests encompass research performance evaluations, scholarly communication, and scholarly publishing.
In her M.A. thesis, Taşkın proposed a solution to the problem of standardizing university affiliations in citation indexes. For her doctoral dissertation, she developed a content-based citation analysis model for the Turkish Language. Her works have graced the pages of esteemed information science journals, including JASIS&T, Journal of Informetrics, and Scientometrics.
Beyond her numerous contributions to the national and international literature, she has authored science communication pieces on scholarly communication in popular science journals and her personal blog. From 2013 to 2019, she actively participated in the editorial board of the Turkish Librarianship journal.
Furthermore, Zehra Taşkın is a member of ASIS&T and took on the role of the international paper contest chair for ASIS&T SIG-III in 2023.
